PROJECT: LOGO & MAP DESIGN
CLIENT: BRISTOL 2015 NEIGHBOURHOOD ARTS PROJECT - BCR GREEN TREASURE HUNT
The Bishopston, Cotham and Redland Green Treasure Hunt is part of the Bristol 2015 European Green Capital Neighbourhood Arts Programme. Basically a 9 mile route, encouraging people to explore their local area via means of active travel, and to discover various 'Green Treasures' along the way. The trail includes 'Street Pockets' which are temporary installations themed on the five Green Capital themes (food, resources, transport, nature & energy), hidden treasures and areas of green space. Join the Green Treasure Hunt 1st August - 13th September 2015!
OBJECTIVE
To design a logo and map for the project. The map was to be printed A3 size and folded to form an A5 leaflet containing additional information and space to mark treasures found en route. Also to be available for download.
The design for the project needed to work alongside existing Bristol 2015 branding, so although I opted to use fonts I felt appropriate for the logo, colours and body text are derived from the existing Bristol 2015 brand guidelines. The earthy paper texture and 'X' marks the spot give a 'treasure map' feel. 'Jewel' ink stamps will be at key locations along the route so that treasure hunters can record the treasure they find.
Click on the images above to show the page layouts on the back of the map, containing information about the treasure hunt, and the things to look out for along the way.
CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
“Carys created the logo and treasure map for my Green Treasure Hunt. She took the plain, functional content and turned it into something beautiful and eye catching. Thanks to her attentiveness, the whole process ran smoothly from initial consultation through to the final printing."
